This is a fictional logo I created at Minerva with the class Typography. It can be used for a music store or record lable for example. I like the fact that you can use the logo for the promotional uses too.
For this short magazine I did research to presentate myself as a graphic designer through the use of a unique business card (see page 4). I also interviewed the creative couple 'met/zonder' to inform myself about being a graphic designer and how to get started after the Art Academy. It also was an interesting opportunity to do something with the design of the magazine. I wanted to investigate the possibilities to get a feeling of depth in a flat medium and how I could integrate the text with the images and vice versa.
Besides graphic design and art I'm very interested in music. To combine these passions I decided to make a new cover for one of my favourite artists. To make it more challenging I decided to link it to an art movement that fitted with the style of the music. Through some research I found out about 'Fluxus'. One of the principles of this art movement was to create images with the use of multimedia. So I searched some magazines for interesting pictures, scanned them and combined it in Photoshop to create a new image that also fitted with the feeling I get with the music.
An experimentation about creating creative and new business cards.
After a visit to Berlin in 2014 as introduction week at Art Academie Minerva we got the assignment to create an infographic about the highlights we saw that week. One of the highlights for me that week was the impressively well organised metro system; the U-Bahn & S-Bahn. So I used that as a guidance through the infographic.
In my spare time I also like to take photographs. It's a nice way to clear your mind and try new techniques and create new views.
Besides the graphic designing and photographing I really like to draw from time to time. You can clear your mind and lose yourself in the drawing. I also think it's a very good way to express yourself and show possible ways of thinking. In the future I like to combine graphic design and illustration a lot more.
